The river under my conscience
is still rippling and flowing
sparkling lava tentacles
spreading gracefully
spots of orange
and highlights of pink
sparkling spaghetti.
Under the visible face of my humanity
a lake of unfathomable depth
and stillness below
the surface churned and scarred.
